Valentine’s Day Makeup, Hair & Outfit

So February, 14th is almost there and we all have been through that time: you have a date, you think you have an outfit, but once you try it on, you change 10 times, only to come back to the initial choice. But then comes the hair: you have no idea what to do, but you want to do something different, something cute. And then makeup: you have so many products, they can make you feel so beautiful, but you’re not too sure what look to go for.
I’ve got our butts covered this year. This post contains a makeup look that is subtle but flattering, a hairstyle that’s awfully easy to recreate, and an outfit you can change and adapt to infinity.
Ready, set, go!

Because I want to focus on my outfit and my makeup today, I decided to go for the trusty beach waves. This time though, I made it a tiny bit more appropriate for a date. Instead of letting my hair directly fall off the straighteners so the curl can loosen up into a wave, I kept it rolled up in my hand for about 5 to 10 seconds to cool down, and keep the curlier form. I did my whole head, taking random strands, bigger and smaller, to enhance the messy look I wanted, and alternating the direction I curled them (towards and away from my face). I then went through it all with my fingers and applied some hairspray.
I always find curls to stay better on a second or third day hair, and it might not be the case for everyone, but that’s what I would recommend to make sure this look stays put through your date.

I started with my eyes. I wanted a pretty simple look, with brown and gold shades, but I also wanted to look like I put some effort into it. I used my Warm Neutral palette by MAC, and I’m so glad I did. I absolutely love this palette, so look out for a full review in the next few weeks. I only used three shades. I worked with “Saddle” (2nd row – 5th shadow), a beautiful natural brown on my crease and outer corner. I then went in with “Honey Lust” (2nd row – 3rd shadow), a beautiful copper shade, on my lid, using MAC’s Fix+ at the center to enhance to pigments. And I finally applied “Hey” (1st row – 1st shade), a stunning frosty beige, in my inner corner. My eyeliner was LancĂ´me’s Grandiose, and my mascara was TooFaced’s Better Than Sex. I used Bare Minerals’ Complexion Rescue Hydrating Gel as my foundation, some of Urban Decay’s Naked Skin concealer, Guerlain’s Terracotta Sun Trio and The Balm’s Fratboy blush. I used NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes for the daytime look, and Kiko’s Velvet Passion in 311 for the nighttime look.

I was only going to do one outfit, but one of my friends convinced me to try two. I went for two different looks, that would work for two different times of the day, and so many different types of dates. The first one is more of a pastel look, better for a daytime date. I am wearing trousers from Zara, an ASOS top, a Mango cardigan and sandals from Primark. It’s a simple look, but I am all for that.
For the nighttime look, my body is from Tezenis, my skirt from Springfield, and my shoes from Primark again (What can I say…? I love their footwear!).

Let me know your best (or worst) experience on a date. I love to hear these kinds of stories.

Have a wonderful day,
